Meet Emily

The Realtor

Emily Cockrell

Whether I knew it or not, my training in real estate started when I was just 5 years old. My dad, while still in the Coast Guard, got licensed as an agent and hit the ground running. 8 years later he became a broker and he and my mom opened their own company, Lee S. Halyard & Associates Realtors. 2024 year marks 22 years since those proverbial doors opened. I have had a front row seat to the real estate market and what it actually takes to succeed and play the long game in this industry. While I always respected my parents work ethic, I didn’t realize until starting my own career how incredible what they built really is. Especially while raising two kids!

It was in my first week of licensing classes that you hear the cliche speech, “not everyone makes it.. in fact, a large percentage of you won’t get your license after taking this class,  and of the ones that do, only about 10% of you will make it past 5 years. This was honestly news to me. It was both inspiring and eye opening,  because that meant my dad not only beat the odds but paved a way for me to do the same.

People are my passion, something I realized as a nurse. It’s hard not to wonder how much further along in my real estate career I would be had I not pursued a career in nursing first but I truly believe that my time and experience working in high stress, demanding, intensive care units only set me up to be even more prepared to serve my clients well. While it’s not life or death scenarios, I don’t take lightly the fact that people’s homes are often their largest financial assets - and that can be stressful! Since becoming a Realtor in 2018 I have been recognized as  a top-producing agent year after year and I'm constantly on the cutting edge of industry practices, delivering amazing results for my clients with a streamlined process.
